Who is Chris Sain Jr?
I’m a family guy who learned through many failures, setbacks and hardships how to take the hand I was dealt and do the impossible in order to live a great life, take care of my community and be a blessing to countless of people every single day.
I was faced with many challenges growing up in the inner-city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, but I desired to be more than what society expected and predicted. Despite humble beginnings, I’ve always believed that I was a product of my expectations and not my environment.
In a society where it is deemed certain that African American Males will be dead or in jail by twenty-five (25) years of age, I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Wayne State University by twenty-four (24) years old despite my oldest brother serving nineteen (19) years in prison before being released.
Since graduating, I now speak regularly at Colleges, High Schools, Prisons and Detention Centers. Seen as a beacon of hope to many, I mainly talk about the goals I had for himself in order to break the cycle of poverty, lack of education, violence, and hopelessness.
Before I became an author or one of the most influential people on social media, I was a two sport athlete in High School. Sports, in particularly football, became my ticket out of the inner-city. After graduating High School, I went on to play football at Michigan State University (MSU) before setbacks and injuries derailed my career. I’ll be the first to admit, at the college level, as a Division I athlete, I never attained the level of success that would justify a career as a professional athlete. Heartbreaking! However, the same skills, dedication and ambition required to be a great athlete happen to be some of the same skills required to be a successful entrepreneur. When my dreams of becoming a professional athlete fell by the wayside, I transferred my work ethic into becoming the best businessman I could be.
